Saturday, August 29th — 4-H Beef Show and Open Beef Show at the Dundas Plowing Match.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, August 29th

Show will begin following the 4-H classes (4-H classes begin at 12:30pm). Animals may enter the barn on Friday, but must arrive no later than 10:00 am Saturday morning. Cattle may leave on Saturday at 5 pm. No bedding will be supplied.

A MAXIMUM of 65 head will be accepted on a first entered, first accepted basis.

4-H Peewee Showmanship Classes — Following the 4-H showmanship classes on Saturday, August 24, ages 8 & under. Must be accompanied by an adult, in the ring or ringside. Prizes for all!

4-H Beef Royal Selection Class

Following the final 4-H beef class, 4-H beef members will be competing to be part of the 4-H PEI Royal Beef Team. The team is made up of a maximum of 10 members (ages 14–21) who will travel to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto in November to compete at the National Junior Beef Heifer Show. To be eligible members must have successfully: completed all components of the 4-H year (and previous year); prepare animal without the help of a leader or parent; and participate in regular showmanship and conformation classes. The Champion Beef Showperson will automatically be awarded a spot on the team (provided they are of age).

Note: No bedding will be supplied in 2025.

Nurse cows are not permitted.

2025-born beef calves are allowed to show.

Classes may be split based on entry numbers.

Supreme Male and Supreme Female will be selected at the end of the breed classes.
